If the import of bank transactions via finAPI interface is not supported, you can alternatively import the transactions manually as a file in camt.053 format (or MT940, but discontinued).
The abbreviation "camt" stands for cash management. There are several versions of camt files, two of which contain turnover lines. Please only use camt.053 files, this format is the direct successor to the MT940 format. In the following, camt.053 is used synonymously for both file types.
The MT940 file type has an end-of-life date of November 2025 and will be replaced by camt.53. Regardless of the import option in Scopevisio, the MT940 format is no longer offered for download by the bank.
Importing account statements (camt.053, MT940)
Under Finance > Banks > Account statements you will find the form in which you can import account statement files of type MT940 or camt.053 via a button.
The file can be dragged 'n' dropped onto the button.
First-time import from camt.053 - unknown bank details
If you import an account statement from a bank that you have not yet created as a house bank, a help form appears with which you can create a suitable house bank.
Select Apply.
Enter a payment method (SEPA).
Enter a G/L account and a transit account for the new bank details.
The bank details are created. Close and open the Account statements form once and then import the statement again. The bank is now recognised and the bank statement is imported.
Successful import of camt.053
If the house bank has been recognised, a system message appears indicating how many statements have been imported in which year. Switch to the relevant year and the statements will be listed there.
For each statement, you can see how many transactions are still open (active and unposted), how many have already been posted and how many are inactive. Select a statement and view its details:
Working with bank account statements
The bank statement details give you access to many options:
Check the account balance and use the link to open the bank account in the general ledger.
Show or hide information with the right mouse button.
Select an account movement to execute the button actions on it.
Here you can switch from Edit posting to Edit in table form to display the posting table (see illustration below).
You can post transactions directly from the account statement...
...and cancel the posting again
Set transactions to inactive and show or hide them using the checkbox below. Or set inactive transactions to active again.
Posting rules and account statement rules are explained in the following article.
You cannot remove or delete individual transactions from an account statement. If you still do not want them to be posted, you can change the status to inactive.
The selected transaction already has an offsetting account and has therefore been recognised as postable.
Select flows
You can select movements using the usual methods (select with the mouse or CTRL+click). The subsequent action then only affects these flows.
Import account statements via customised csv file
If you do not receive a camt.053 file, you can alternatively import account transactions in csv format via Further actions > Import account transactions. Correspondingly, you can also export your statements in csv format.
These csv files may need to be adapted manually, as their original data probably has a different structure to that required in Scopevisio. There are also fewer columns and therefore less information available.
Check the assignment of the columns before importing. You must always import the IBAN (of the house bank), the sort code (of the house bank), the posting date and the posted amount as mandatory fields.
