Cost dimension for projects
Assign the costs and income of a project to the dimensions you have created yourself and use Scopevisio's extensive evaluation options to precisely analyse the income and expenses of your projects.
You can assign additional characteristics from the area of cost accounting to the postings resulting from a project and determine key figures by grouping values according to these dimensions. In this way, you can show exactly when and where which costs and revenues were incurred.
Note: When setting up your Scopevisio access, you can select your desired activity name in the setup wizard or create your own name.
Define your own project cost dimension
Depending on the product line you have subscribed to, you can analyse data in Scopevisio according to up to ten dimensions for recording cost centres and cost units, for example, as well as branch offices and employee assignments.
If the portfolio of subscribed applications also includes the Projects application, the third dimension is automatically categorised as a project dimension.
If another dimension is to be used to analyse the projects, you should create a separate cost dimension. You can do this under Finance > Controlling > Cost accounting.
Once this has been done, open the project settings via the menu System menu > Master data > Projects > Edit project settings, click on Cost dimension and select the relevant dimension.
Automatically assigned project cost centre
When you create a new project, the project cost centre associated with the project is assigned when the project is saved.
A dimension account with the project cost number and the name of the project is automatically created in the saved dimension.
By clicking on the Project cost centre link in the detailed view of the project, the dimension journal for this cost centre is opened.
Projects dimension journal
In the Projects dimension journal form, you can select postings and select a new dimension account in the Change dimension accounts area using the Change button.
Assigning outgoing invoices to the project cost centre
If an outgoing invoice is created for a project, the posting is automatically made in the Projects dimension with the project account number assigned to the project.
Assign postings to the project cost centre
If items of an incoming invoice received are to be assigned to a project, the desired project is selected in the posting screen (accessible via the Finance menu item) and the invoice is posted.
Note: You can show projects by right-clicking on the table header above the posting. This only works in the regular booking screen, not in the incoming invoice screen.
To split the invoice item, first switch to the rebu (Finance > Rebu > Invoice entry) and open the corresponding invoice.
You can display business objects by clicking the right mouse button. Select individual items .
Right-click on the table header of line items and select Projects . Here you assign the corresponding project to the item.

Evaluation
You have several options for analysing the project.
In the project file

The current contribution margin is calculated based on the incoming and outgoing invoices entered and assigned to the project.
All assigned booking transactions can be tracked in detail in the Costs and revenues business object.
Clicking on the respective bar in the Costs and revenues business object takes you to the postings associated with the project.
In the "Projects" dimension report
Call up the dimension analysis via the menu Finance > Controlling > Cost accounting > Projects . Set the periods you wish to view.
Tick the Show dimension accounts checkbox below the item. If you want to know more, select the link to the dimension account (highlighted in red) to display it.
