Cloud Data Centers

Scopevisio operates its cloud platform in two data centers – both located in Germany, both GDPR-compliant and GoBD-compliant. When setting up your account, you choose which data center hosts your data.

Your Two Options

Frankfurt (Standard Data Center)

Our standard data center is located in Frankfurt am Main. It provides the full functionality of Scopevisio and is the right choice for the majority of our customers.

AWS Frankfurt (C5-audited Data Center)

This data center runs on AWS infrastructure in Frankfurt (region eu-central-1) and has been audited against the BSI C5 criteria catalog – specifically as a Type 2 attestation. A Type 2 attestation goes beyond assessing the design of security measures; it also verifies their operational effectiveness in live operation. The attestation is issued by an independent auditor.

What Does the C5 Attestation Give You?

The C5-audited data center is particularly useful when you need to provide formal evidence to your IT department, compliance officers, or external auditors:

  • Verifiability & transparency: documented controls and auditable operational processes

  • Compliance suitability: a solid foundation for internal and external audits

  • Defined security standards: e.g. for access protection, logging, and incident handling

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the choice of data center affect how I use Scopevisio?

No. Scopevisio is functionally identical in both data centers. The difference lies solely in the operational and compliance framework.

Can I switch data centers later?

A switch is generally possible, but may involve organizational and technical effort. If the C5 attestation is likely to be required, we recommend selecting it from the start.

Where can I obtain documentation on the C5 attestation?

For specific audit reports and supporting documents, please contact your Scopevisio account manager or support team.

Is AWS documented as a sub-processor?

Yes. AWS is listed as a sub-processor under the Data Processing Agreement (DPA). For questions regarding GDPR compliance and contractual arrangements, please contact our support team.

Where can I check the current system status?

The status of the standard data center is available at status.scopevisio.com, and the status of the C5-audited environment at status.c5.scopevisio.com.
