Install the Scopevisio Client on Linux (Community Edition)

Extract, start and sign in to the Scopevisio Client on Linux (Community Edition).

Note: This is a Linux community edition. Support and updates are provided exclusively by the community.

What you need

  • A modern computer, see our system requirements for hardware and internet connection details (Linux itself is not listed there)

  • A current 64-bit distribution (x86_64) with a graphical desktop, last tested with Ubuntu 26.04.1 (GNOME). The client needs the usual graphics libraries (X11 or Wayland with XWayland, OpenGL/EGL).

  • Customer portal credentials and your customer number

  • Internet connection: on first launch, a Java runtime (Amazon Corretto, approx. 200 MB) is downloaded from corretto.aws, and the program components are downloaded from the Scopevisio servers.

1. Download

  1. Open account.scopevisio.com, select the environment, and sign in.

  2. In your user account, under Apps, click "Download Scopevisio Client (Linux)". You receive Scopevisio.tar.gz.

2. Extract and start

mkdir -p ~/Scopevisio
tar -xzf ~/Downloads/Scopevisio.tar.gz -C ~/Scopevisio
chmod +x ~/Scopevisio/Scopevisio
~/Scopevisio/Scopevisio

The archive contains only the executable file Scopevisio; you can place it anywhere. On first launch, the start window with a progress bar appears; Java and the program components are downloaded to ~/.scopevisio.

3. Sign in

  1. The sign-in window appears. At the top, under "Select environment", the Standard environment is preselected.

  2. Enter customer number, email address and password and click "Sign in".

  3. In future, start Scopevisio again via ~/Scopevisio/Scopevisio.

Notes

  • All data is stored under ~/.scopevisio (Java, program components, configuration, logs) and in the files ~/.erpclient.properties and ~/.svautologin.properties.

  • Proxy: the client uses the system proxy settings or a file ~/svproxy.txt.

  • The Linux file is currently not code-signed.

  • No longer starts: rename ~/.scopevisio (see "Reset and reinstall Scopevisio") and start again.
