Close financial years and periods

Updated over 2 months ago

Brief description:
You can close periods and entire financial years to prevent postings and changes.

Close periods

  1. Open Settings > Organisation > Active company > Financial years.

  2. In the row of the desired period, remove the tick in the "Period open" column.

Effect

  • The period is closed and can no longer be posted to.

  • This also applies to depreciation runs and imports.

  • Documents cannot be removed from postings as long as the period is closed.

  • Tick the box again to reopen the period.

Close entire financial year

  1. Open the financial year in the overview.

  2. Activate the "Fiscal year closed" checkbox in the header area .

Effect

  • All associated periods are automatically closed.

  • A lock symbol appears in the overview to indicate this.

  • The financial year is now protected against changes.

  • Asset Accounting cannot recalculate or change values in closed years.

Background

Scopevisio uses closed periods and years,
to prevent subsequent changes from leading to discrepancies in reports or financial statements.

If you have inadvertently closed a year, you can reopen it by unchecking the box - provided you have the appropriate authorisations.
